So we have two of the favorite word blindness guests on Bradley Doublets and Montgomery Horn. And I'm here with my co-host Brant Sobel. How's everyone doing? All right, I just want to say update on the chicks. How the college chicks. That's what everybody's been asking about, Or. Guys, it depends, you know. Okay. Remember, try everything three times.
00:00:26:04 - 00:00:53:15
Unknown
I don't think that's what everyone's been asking me. That's just that I've been getting. I don't know what you or you get. I'm just kidding. But you guys can answer that if you want. Can't complain. Oh, yeah, I will. Ha ha ha. I like it. I like it. Can't complain. All right, so if you guys are listening to this and you have not heard and I can look it up.
00:00:53:19 - 00:01:08:08
Unknown
I was there. I was just going to say I didn't look at. I looked it up, and then I didn't look it up. And I forgot what episode, but it was, And I think it was, you know, because it was on their Christmas break, and we did last time. It was exactly. So I think it was like season two or season three, I'll get you exactly.
00:01:08:08 - 00:01:33:05
Unknown
But if you have not listened to that, that was Montgomery. And Bradley Montgomery is my son. Bradley is my nephew. And as we talk about dyslexia and the five DS being hereditary, it is spread far and wide in the Williams, which is my maiden name on doublets household. So we had these guys come on because they are they were in their first semester of college and they were able to break that down.
00:01:33:05 - 00:01:49:03
Unknown
Do you guys want to go back and listen to that? It's kind of fun because now we're in. We just finished the first semester. I guess you finished the first semester of first year. Now you're in the second. Now why can't I do the first semester of the second year? There we go. In year to year. My hit that hurt my brain.
00:01:49:03 - 00:02:12:02
Unknown
Two comes after one. Yeah. Oh, God. You guys, no one jumped in. You just heard me struggling, trying to figure out where you guys are. So that's one of the things that we wanted to see. Where you guys are, where kind of you have been, like, I get this now. I cannot struggle as much or no, this is harder as it gets harder.
00:02:12:02 - 00:02:36:22
Unknown
So, Brant, did you have a question you want to start out or just like them know, obviously, you know, I want everybody go listen off. The first episode with them last year, you know, your year two, start. Brother, are you guys you feeling more comfortable? Being where you are, your surroundings. And then follow that up with, you know, the education portion because I know you you you had mentioned that you have pretty good resources.
00:02:37:00 - 00:02:57:12
Unknown
You are they still good or at least suck or you know, where you at on your two? It's been good. I would say the biggest, beneficiary is like, not living in the dorm. Makes life a lot easier, to be honest. Why is that? I don't know, you know, I get known as. It's quite. I never lived in a dorm.
00:02:57:12 - 00:03:18:14
Unknown
I obviously didn't go to college. I, I, you know, I got traded at 16 and, went to. I lived with another family, you know, so I've never had the college experience. I've never had the, the dorm experience. I really don't know what that you know, what that actually means. And all schools are different. So Bradley. Yeah, take us through because Tennessee you have first of all, what you have.
00:03:18:14 - 00:03:38:12
Unknown
It's very rare when I remember your mom showing me and I was like, what the oh my God. He's so like, yeah, so go take us through where you are. Yeah. Well, last year was like, so the building that I lived in last year is now, like, shut down in Tennessee. Like, they don't have it for kids anymore because it was like 100 year old building.
00:03:38:13 - 00:03:58:12
Unknown
But they I don't know, there's a bunch of rumors about it, but apparently they can't knock it down because it's, like, so moldy and historic. Yeah. And moldy. So. Right. It will go in there. There's mold moldy. Here we go. Oh, here we go. A tree hugger. But the room itself was like. I mean, it was so small.
00:03:58:12 - 00:04:18:12
Unknown
I don't mean it was like it was super small room. And it's for people living in, I don't know, square feet, but I mean, very that large square feet, which was like, I don't know, it was fine. I just took it eventually every time. But now I'm in, house, which is, it's like a brand new house.
00:04:18:12 - 00:04:39:16
Unknown
It's not brand new, but a bunch of sweaty girls had it last year. So, like this really good tradition, though. There. Is that why you're there? That's my question. Like first year as a freshman, do you have to live in the dorms? Like, I honestly don't know if this is all new to me. Yeah. So after that then you can choose on your own or what's how's that work?
00:04:39:18 - 00:05:01:14
Unknown
I'm stupid. So only cigars can athlete you. You don't have to live in dorm, but, Yeah. So you had to live in dorm freshman year, and then you can do, like, student housing through the school year. It's like, apply for it. It's kind of hard to to get that. And they're like nicer. It's like apartments I like super it apparently like the housing is really nice to the school.
00:05:01:14 - 00:05:35:04
Unknown
I'm sure it is. She's got so much money. But, I know some people, a lot of people live in, like, apartments. But I got kind of lucky where, like, through my fraternity. My, my, like, big brother who I've, like, known for forever. He went to my high school, he lived in this, house. And so we, were able to get, the other side, like, it was like a connected house, but I have, like, my own, bed or not, obviously, but I hope.
00:05:35:06 - 00:06:00:13
Unknown
Yeah, she's. I have my own bedroom and bathroom, which is, like, kind of crazy, which is huge for a sophomore. That's, like insane. Yeah. Yeah. Which, like, allows me to, I don't know, study in my room, which is nice. Yeah. And not have other people distracting you. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. Got right back to your answer, Mr. Cool.
00:06:00:13 - 00:06:24:09
Unknown
Sitting there like you on this for sure. Yes. Yeah. You go tell us what yours is it. Do you find it easier this year or. Yeah, I definitely find it easier. I think probably this year, just because, like, you kind of get, like, a grasp on everything, because is like, it's the second year, so you kind of know whatever, like what's going to happen.
00:06:24:09 - 00:06:45:17
Unknown
Kind of like you already been through it once. So, yeah, I definitely feel like this year was a lot better or a first semester at least so far. First semester right now. Question. Because Bradley was saying like, it's easier for him to study because he found the space. Like you can find space outside, but really having that space where you're not distracted, you know, for some people they're like, oh my God, that's huge for you.
00:06:45:18 - 00:07:06:04
Unknown
Do you find that you like having your roommates when you're studying, or do you need to go and go to a separate spot and like you got kind of got that down where it's like, okay, this is the time I'm studying. This is really for both of you. Like, do you guys have like a organized plan? Is it like, you know, now, like, I need to study at this time, so then I can do laundry at this time, especially Montgomery, like with you, with practice and all that.
00:07:06:04 - 00:07:30:07
Unknown
Like how, how if Montgomery if you can start with that a little bit, like how the routine kind of settled in. Definitely. It's kind of like a routine you get into, like, it didn't take as long as last year. Definitely. I feel like as the year went on, like it gets a little, like, easier for, for you to start getting into routine.
00:07:30:07 - 00:07:48:04
Unknown
But my roommates, they're very like, like, if you if you're just like, all right, I need to stay. Just please shut up. I'll just be quiet. So it's like, they're very, like, helpful with that. If you need help, they'll help you. So I think that was good, but did you like. It's the roommates I don't know. Again, this is just your soup.
00:07:48:04 - 00:08:02:11
Unknown
I mean, I've been there. Do you get to pick your roommates or so? Yeah. I got to, freshman year. You don't get to pick your roommates. At least for my school, you don't get to. But second year, you get to, second year at all, and you can just pick your roommates. Pick where you want to live.
00:08:02:11 - 00:08:27:10
Unknown
Kind of, like, out of the choices they give you. But, yeah, you get to pick your roommates. So I'm with a bunch of guys, from my team. So we all are kind of on the same schedule, so which is easier because it's like if we're we're on the same schedule, like, we meet him, or me and a couple of the guys, two of the guys were in the same class, so they'd be like, all right, we have this assignment, like, let's do it at this time.
00:08:27:12 - 00:08:45:20
Unknown
So none of us, like, missed the assignment, so they would help a lot. And then with, like, the sports aspect, it's really not bad. Like, once you get into it, you kind of just have, like a two hour practice every day. Some days are a little longer. If you have weights. So you might be practicing for like 3.5 hours, something along the lines of that.
00:08:45:20 - 00:09:03:05
Unknown
But that's like pretty much like, it's pretty much it. Like it's not, it's nothing like too crazy that you had after class. Is that in the afternoon or one hour ones that. Yeah, it's in the afternoon. So it's kind of like I'm normally the oldest semester. So my schedule. So it's a little later. My classes will end around like three.
00:09:03:05 - 00:09:22:01
Unknown
Some of them. So I'll have practice at three. Finished probably around like I'd say like 430 or 5. And then because it's spring time, we have weights three times a week. So then that's like use another hour or so. It's pretty much like I'd say practice is from like three. It's like three to the sports day.
00:09:22:01 - 00:09:37:14
Unknown
It's like 3 to 6. Some like that 3 to 630. So it's really it's really not too bad. You kind of have time in between classes to get work done, but I definitely feel like it's easier. This year, by a lot. Bradley a do you find the same like do you have you gotten into the routine?
00:09:37:14 - 00:09:55:19
Unknown
And it was just easier. Does it really depend on like if your schedule is different, that you had to kind of figure that out? Yeah, it's definitely easier just, you know, like knowing, where everything is. I mean, you're a freshman anymore, so you kind of are more familiar with everything. And like Montgomery said, like some of my roommates were like, we're in the same class.
00:09:55:19 - 00:10:16:03
Unknown
So that was really helpful. And, I mean, some of my roommates are like a lot smarter or not, like, I don't know better at schoolwork, so they're better at schoolwork. Okay, I was gonna say, right, this a roommate you need to pick. Now you're like my hometown. I was a girl. But I, I don't know, my day to day lives.
00:10:16:05 - 00:10:44:06
Unknown
I ended up, I had math, like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and, end up dropping that class. Just kind of off to a bad start, and I'm gonna, like, take it over the summer. Now. So I actually, did not have class till three on Monday, Wednesday, Friday when the, like, class first. So you had a good schedule and you let me I.
00:10:44:06 - 00:11:14:05
Unknown
I really like you. No, I know what I would be doing every night, how every year, you know. Are they good with you? I'm at. You sure was not good at all. And that's, like, part of the reason, she was a super nice lady. Like, you're actually like, oh, she's really nice lady. But, I mean, every day when you'd go in the class, she would do, like, an example problem on the board, like one example problem on the board or like she do like one page of exam problems, maybe like three major problems.
00:11:14:05 - 00:11:33:13
Unknown
And then she put you in these groups and like, just have you do a worksheet and you could leave like you'd need to have to be there. It was kind of ridiculous. It was pretty much just like, you gotta figure out how you calculate this on your own, where I was gonna say, yeah, math. Oh, right. But it's not common again.
00:11:33:13 - 00:11:47:11
Unknown
And you ask these questions, I never you never been there like that's. You want me to do it? I can't do it. So what do you expect me to do? Well, I think it depends on the teacher. I know, but now we just had a math that that's how her teacher is like. She has to figure it out herself.
00:11:47:11 - 00:12:09:00
Unknown
And it is. I mean, I feel like in math. Math is like an interesting I mean, there's an teacher, I mean, teach. Yeah. Or am I just silly? No, it totally does. But it is, some teachers want the kids to figure it out themselves. They think that's teaching, but if they're not, if they're only showing, like, okay, this is one way of doing it, and then you're put into groups.
00:12:09:00 - 00:12:23:15
Unknown
I mean, I know, like, as I said, like Penelope now, like in the beginning, she had to get a tutor because she was like, okay, I'm not getting it. I'm asking the teacher and she's teaching the same way now. She has figured it out, but that's with a lot of hard work of trying to figure it out and staying on top of it.
00:12:23:15 - 00:12:38:04
Unknown
Right. And if you get behind, you're really screwed. A high school shit obviously can't drop it. Like that's one of the things that's good. Like probably you kind of knew. You know what? Wait a second. Because I remember last year you had dropped one class that you were like, I should have stayed with it because I bet it would have been okay.
00:12:38:04 - 00:13:01:01
Unknown
Do you regret still that or were you like, I'm glad that I did that this year? No. Last year. Remember last year you had. Yeah. No, I actually don't because taking over the summer was I mean, I got to be in the class. Yeah. It was better. I probably get a scrape to see if I like, you know, thought it out or whatever, but like, this year to put it into perspective, like the groups, it's like the first day of class.
00:13:01:01 - 00:13:19:08
Unknown
You like assign this to these random groups. That was me. And like six other kids that. Yeah, one of the kids was like, super smart. He's actually a really cool guy. He's from new Jersey, but running them some time. But like for the people in that group dropped the class. So the two kids ended up, actually.
00:13:19:08 - 00:13:38:11
Unknown
And then like, two of my roommates, had that same thing. She had two math classes. One was like 1030, like 1030, and then mine was like the 1130 block, I think. And, it was my roommates dropped it, too, like, just because that's it, I don't yeah. She's not. Yeah, she's clearly not. Like I said, she's like a nice lady.
00:13:38:11 - 00:13:58:04
Unknown
But I mean both in the next semester, you know, do you know, can you ask round and and how calc. Because what you just told me, I've never know. I've never heard before. Right. You know, I'm curious to see over the next semester or, you know, your buddies already talked to you. How many teachers are like that? You know, Juilliard.
00:13:58:07 - 00:14:20:18
Unknown
Let's like teaching. You're supposed to teach. So if you happen, you'll figure it out on your own. Is not teaching. But I'm now blown away by what you just said. I've never been in all those situations. I'm curious to see what the percentage might be that actually do that. And that's not that's not you know, that's called child abuse.
00:14:20:18 - 00:14:41:04
Unknown
And stealing money. So I'm curious to see how, you know, if you report back in, you know, you know, in the summertime or whatever, just just ask them any question or just think if somebody says something just that's just for my purposes, you know, and the foundation purposes, I've never heard that. I'm sort. It's it's weird that Tennessee does it.
00:14:41:04 - 00:15:15:13
Unknown
You can when you're registering for classes for every other subject besides math you can like see the professor before you register. And so I'll go on this thing called like rate my professor and students like rate their professor. But for math, it's like, totally anonymous. You just, choose, like, the time block, and you just get poets, whatever math teacher you get, and some of my friends who, were in, like, that calculus class who had different teachers, you know, like, love their professor, you know, what does I mean?
00:15:15:15 - 00:15:36:19
Unknown
I mean, that's one of the things about math. That's so because I know I just talked to someone about this, again, because of math isn't a whole different world, and it's really the way you teach it and the kids how they interpret it. And not everyone interprets the the same way, like and so it is any time there's always a math professor is always a different kind of.
00:15:36:21 - 00:15:55:17
Unknown
And I'm putting this in quotes, but people will say a different kind of teacher. It's not the same. They don't have the same credentials. It's a very interesting world, the math world, and I shouldn't say credentials, but I know just in my years of education and learning about things, that's one of the things that my mom would always say, like, and Grammie would say, like the maths are different.
00:15:55:17 - 00:16:15:13
Unknown
They don't have to do X, Y, and Z, and there's always something. It's two is fucking four. Now, I know it's it's something I don't. It's an interesting because Montgomery you took math this summer as well. I mean that was like recommended because the dyscalculia and that was a great idea that you did that as well. You would have drown if you had it during the year.
00:16:15:15 - 00:16:39:14
Unknown
Yeah. Can you and then I want you kind of both to talk about this. But this year, what class gave you the, like what was the hardest class and then how did you figure out how to kind of survive in it? I don't really know. Like, I would say, I know I'm like, which but I think it's the good grade in it though, so.
00:16:39:16 - 00:16:59:01
Unknown
Yeah, but but you were drowning in the beginning. So take us through like. Like you were, I don't know, first. First like for me, I mean, like, I don't know why at all. I'd hate to do, like, sign language, like this. So stupid. Like it's I'm never going to use it if I happen to go deaf. Still not going to be able to learn it.
00:16:59:03 - 00:17:22:04
Unknown
It's the stupidest shit ever. And sorry if anyone is deaf, that has to do it howling, but I just read. You hear that? Her two cousins deaf. But it's not the, you know, it's the fact you have to take a second language when we can't do the first language. Because that's why I say I said I barely sign, barely know my own language, so I don't know why I need to take a different one.
00:17:22:06 - 00:17:42:20
Unknown
But, I mean, I kind of just, like, ended up by paying attention towards the end because I'm, like, failing this class. And then kind of just got with people who, who were doing good in the class, joined their group. Group. Like, it's kind of like it's like the saying everyone says, like you got, you got an A on the group project when you were just in the group and didn't do anything like that out of how I got by.
00:17:42:20 - 00:18:02:21
Unknown
That's kind of what you need. I need to do because I didn't cheat or anything at all. Because you couldn't write exam in sign language. So that's that's one thing. Can't cheat in sign language. So I kind of just was like, all right, I need to, like, lock in on it, start, like, watching stuff in class.
00:18:02:21 - 00:18:18:12
Unknown
And actually, it was just like, this is a class, and you don't speak because it's a sign language. So it's not like I can just process everything in my head because nothing's being said. So I kind of was just like, all right, then started like watching extra videos on it when I would get back to my room and stuff and got I ever get.
00:18:18:12 - 00:18:39:21
Unknown
I finished with like 86 or something like that. So I'm good. But I'm very annoyed. Class. Well, but the thing is, and for anyone that is just catching in on this, you have to take a foreign language in most states. But if you're dyslexic, you do not have to take a foreign language in in a lot of states.
00:18:39:23 - 00:18:58:12
Unknown
So New York, you don't have to take a foreign language. Connecticut you don't have to take a foreign language. So Montgomery never had to take a foreign language. He goes, South Carolina. They're like, you have to take a foreign language. And it was like, well, wait a second. I've never taken any language. I can't just go into the intro into Spanish because that's not that's going to be after assuming he learned it in high school.
00:18:58:17 - 00:19:14:18
Unknown
So their alternative, which a lot of high schools are doing now, is sign language. And one of the things that you brought up that I was like, I never even thought about it because I was like, it's going to be tough. You can get through it. I remember I had to take it for something or when you were a baby, I taught you sign language and I was like, you'll be good.
00:19:14:20 - 00:19:34:10
Unknown
And then it was like, mom, I can't spell regularly, and I have to spell like, this is real sign language. Like they want me to spell on my hands. And I was like, oh my gosh, that's really, really hard. But what you said was you really locked in. So you realize that, okay, I can do that. Attention. That was the key word I was excited to.
00:19:34:16 - 00:19:40:05
Unknown
I paid attention. Imagine that. Yeah.
00:19:40:06 - 00:19:55:12
Unknown
Right. But because you were like, oh wait, I okay, the ways I get through things is not going to be the same. So you kind of had to use a different part of your brain and then you realized, all right, this is hard, but I have to put some hard work. It's a different hard work than you're typically used to doing in it.
00:19:55:12 - 00:20:11:00
Unknown
And then. And then you did. Well. Yeah. They want you to think so. It's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. It was not too bad at the end. I finished pretty good. But it's like it's not that I didn't like the class. I thought it was pretty cool. Like I enjoyed being there, but it's just like, I don't really learn anything.
00:20:11:00 - 00:20:29:04
Unknown
I literally I've taken zero things from the class and it's not even at all. The teacher or teacher was great, but it's just like, like she was a very good teacher. She was, I think she was probably one of my favorite teachers this year just because she understood, my situation in the beginning, she didn't, though. No she did.
00:20:29:04 - 00:20:49:04
Unknown
She understood in the beginning. It's you can't just give someone a free pass. Like. No, I know how it is. You can just be like, oh, you have dyslexia. Here's a free pass. I know, but it's like, say this so I can, you know, I can speak Canadian. You know, I, I've been going to, American lessons here lately, so I can catch up on that.
00:20:49:06 - 00:21:05:08
Unknown
I can't in fact, it's we talked about this on the podcast all the time. It drives me fucking nuts. Like you're setting us up for failure. And when I say I was dyslexic, right? You know, you guys are in the middle of it. You know, you don't take it ever. Then you're 20 years old now. You got to take a foreign language.
00:21:05:14 - 00:21:26:18

Like when I moved to Russia. I'm like. Yeah. Like, oh, God. Whoa. And I was 30, you know, five years old or whatever it is. And you want me to speak it, you know? And, you know, that's something the government that we will eventually want to change it all. Second language is for dyslexic. Should be optional if you want to take it.
00:21:26:18 - 00:21:48:11
Unknown
Great. Yeah. And it's figure out another avenue and spelling sign language or. I remember my daughter Lila. She had she had to take some English Lit or some part of can't do a foreign language, but I'm going to go into English Lit. You're some great. Yeah. Non dyslexic and you know, running the show. Yeah. Bradley so I want to take that to you.
00:21:48:11 - 00:22:18:18
Unknown
What class this year. Kind of other than math like that, you realize you had to work differently in, I had this English class is actually super cool. It was so kind of funny at first. I was in it was called, like English 295 and the entire class, like, I went to the first two days of class, because the first week at Tennessee, you can still change classes, see, like, see if you'd like it or whatever.
00:22:18:20 - 00:22:49:07
Unknown
And I went me and my buddy were in this class, and the whole class was about emails in the workplace. So, I mean, like, you literally would simulate writing an email to your coworker or like whatever. And I remember I was the only person to ask a question that raised my hand. And I asked this dude, and I was like, I feel like this is a area where I could completely replace this, like sending emails back and forth.
00:22:49:09 - 00:23:08:21
Unknown
And he got super offended and like, oh, really, really wanted to, like, cheat or something. And he was like, there one that I used, like in my, in my class, like, you will be kicked out. And I literally was just asking, like, if he thinks I will replace right, manual or whatever. So I switch out of that class.
00:23:08:23 - 00:23:29:03
Unknown
That's like, oh, yeah. What the fuck was that? Yeah. What's that? You know, well, that's the thing, but was it more like what? What's a like it. Was it more of like, an appropriation? Like, these are the things that you should write or is just helping you formulate, like, I mean, because that's a whole semester, I, I would think that could be like, one lesson.
00:23:29:05 - 00:23:48:22
Unknown
I was like, but I only went, like to see it, but my buddy was in it, and it sounded like they ended up writing like papers on other things, because I don't know how you would teach a class like, for, you know, 100 years, but, I mean, I don't know, like, the class was called writing in the workplace.
00:23:48:22 - 00:24:08:17
Unknown
So. Interesting. But then I switch into this, like, different in those class, and there was, all about, like, you just work in a group, so kind of sucks. I got, like, the I got the flu in August. Like, I, I went to the doctor and she's like, you're the first case we've seen. I got it really bad.
00:24:08:19 - 00:24:27:11
Unknown
And so I missed the, like, draft to, to pick your group, which our teacher decides that, like, you had to be there because that's like, you're going to be working with that group D like that's your grade, right? Like, right. Luckily, like I got, I knew it like a group or whatever, and I like my roommates.
00:24:27:13 - 00:24:54:18
Unknown
One of the dudes was like a football manager, which was, like, pretty cool talking about, like, the team and stuff like that, right. But I had, the whole class was like, you have to start a go fund me, and raise money for a nonprofit, like a local nonprofit. So that was something. I mean, I've never done anything like that, like, like Texas and Lizzy and asked her about it because that's like what she does for a living and stuff like that.
00:24:54:20 - 00:25:14:15
Unknown
Yeah. But yeah, that that was the local. That was the local thing that you did that. Right? Yeah. That was really cool. Yeah. Like, I like, had to go to like a local church. And our whole thing, our thing was, like, put turkey on the table. So we raised money for, like, underprivileged families who can afford, like, Thanksgiving dinners.
00:25:14:17 - 00:25:33:07
Unknown
So, yeah, that was pretty cool. It was just different. I wasn't like, you know, running in the frickin workplace or place now, right? Well, that's. But that also gives you, like, some outside skills because you're learning about different things like that. That is definitely a cool one. Where did you have you I know your business, right. That's your your major.
00:25:33:09 - 00:25:52:10
Unknown
Do you do any minors in business or you like, do you have to do that? Or you can just say just business. Yeah. So Tennessee does, what is it? I don't had to decide. So, junior, it's like a collateral in a concentration. Yeah. So right now I'm business management, which I don't even know if I'm going to do that.
00:25:52:10 - 00:26:13:01
Unknown
Like, literally when I had to pick my, major, my, like, advisor, like, we had a meeting and she was like, all right. Like, you got to pick a major because I was just business. There's like eight different business things you can do, right? My dad had told me not to do, accounting, business, and like, a couple other things.
00:26:13:01 - 00:26:29:05
Unknown
And I told her that, and she was like, well, do you have, like, any idea what you want to do? And I was like, no. She was like, well, what are you good at? And I was like, well, I mean, I guess I'm a good people person. So she was like, okay, in your business management. Management. Yeah. And then I said, yeah, that's cool.
00:26:29:05 - 00:26:53:13
Unknown
And then the concentrations I can do one is, entrepreneurship, which I think is what I'm gonna do. Yeah. Or like human relations, HR, I think. And then like collateral, I have no idea. I think it's like I can get it clear on, like, finance or something. I don't know, something like that, but. Right, but that's that's good that you have all those options.
00:26:53:15 - 00:27:10:19
Unknown
Because Montgomery did we talk about and then. But if you want to kind of interject about like your major, you decided to switch your major and I don't I think that happened second semester when you had to take business law, right? Yeah, that's what I had to do. I mean, I'm kind of just like I tell this to everyone.
00:27:10:19 - 00:27:29:21
Unknown
I'm just. I'm in college to play sports. I don't know what I want to do. I hate college, I don't learn anything. No one teaches me anything. It's. It literally is a scam. It's the biggest game of all. I love it, I love it. Here we go. Yeah. If. Yeah, I it's the stupid issue. I actually hate college so much.
00:27:29:21 - 00:27:49:23
Unknown
So I like people. I like the team. It's it's not even it's not the school I go to. I love I love the school I go to, but it's just like, it's just is you don't learn like I'm waking up early in the morning to just sit there and a teacher just yap about something that legitimately is going to do nothing in my fucking life.
00:27:49:23 - 00:28:08:00
Unknown
Like, I don't like it. I if I can't spell a big word, that's not going to get me a fucking job. It's so stupid. But anyway, my little rant, I switched because, again, a teacher does not know what she's doing. The. I think it was, I don't know what it was, but she it was it was business law and she wasn't accepted.
00:28:08:00 - 00:28:31:04
Unknown
Like taking your accommodation. Don't let me use my, accommodations, for tests. And I kind of told her, like, I'm just not going to be in your class and go and use it. But she got, well, like, you're going to have to figure another way out. It's like, all right, I'll figure another way out. Left, got up, left, middle class and went to my advisor who was the best and was like me.
00:28:31:05 - 00:28:51:05
Unknown
My advisor came up with a plan. She's like, yeah, this is ridiculous. Like, she's not allowed to do this. It's like illegal. Yeah, that's illegal. You can't just help. Like, she also is a lawyer, so I don't know why the fuck she doesn't know that. But, clearly she's not good at her job. But, my advisor was like, yeah, I think this would be better for you.
00:28:51:05 - 00:29:11:21
Unknown
Just suits you better. And it was a great decision. I'm very happy. I do communications now with, minor of sports management, so I don't need to do that. Business law class. But, yeah, my advisor was like, I think we should do this, and I. It was a very, very good idea. So very happy. She's my advisor.
00:29:11:23 - 00:29:31:15
Unknown
Great. Great advisor. We all know our Ashley. Yeah, but she's, to to that point, to all the listeners. You know, you have a 540 IEP. You know, it's illegal not to accommodate. Yeah. And so, you know, anybody listening, you know what he just said, you know, bad teacher. You know, she's a lawyer as you just said.
00:29:31:15 - 00:29:51:13
Unknown
She doesn't care. Right. Well, you know, anybody who's going to listen to this podcast, your son or daughter is in that situation where the teacher won't accommodate. And you have, you know, an IEP, you have accommodations. It is illegal for a teacher to do that. So, you know, just to clarify, to make sure everybody you know who's listening to know that.
00:29:51:15 - 00:30:07:13
Unknown
Yeah. Yeah. And like I, I'm personally like me as a person like well one first off, I never should have had to switch in the beginning. Like, she kind of like she kind of like, if I'm being honest, she's kind of the reason why I switch. Because I'm like, I'm not dealing with this shit. But I think it's a very good idea.
00:30:07:13 - 00:30:23:04
Unknown
I switch because I like communications way better. That's stuff I did in high school, and I think it just suits me better. Could I have passed their class? Yeah, I always find a way to. So I probably could have, but I just. I don't like when someone won't let me do something that I'm clearly allowed to do.
00:30:23:04 - 00:30:49:06
Unknown
So I kind of just, like, I'm just not going to deal with your bullshit. And just got up out of there. And I don't understand why you're in the first two years, because I just it it all just general classes. Again, this is the guy has never been there. So why do you have to pick a major? If you're taking all, you know, genuine classes going into your, you know, third year of your junior year, you know, to me, it should be that should be almost your first year of whatever your major is.
00:30:49:08 - 00:31:17:21
Unknown
It's true. Like, we we technically, we don't need to, like. Same with Bradley. Same with Tennessee. I don't know about all colleges, but at least for me, I'm a lot like. I technically don't need to declare a major until the first semester of my junior year. Because, like, I don't know, like I say, honestly, maybe the last two years of college are, you get something out of it, like you, I'm spending all this money to actually get some education, but, I mean, I pretty much.
00:31:17:21 - 00:31:37:23
Unknown
I hope you do. Yeah. Mom's got a lot here in this year's are bleeding right now. 111 would fucking hope you do. But, you kind of like I. I'm learning about who who made the, like, who made the phone and who made, like, why the fuck do I need to do that? Why am I waking up tired of shit sauce, shit to learn who made the phone?
00:31:37:23 - 00:31:55:21
Unknown
When am I ever, no matter what job, whatever, what place I go into. Yeah, yeah. I don't need to know who made the phone. I don't know, I don't need to know these things. These things don't get me anywhere. Life. And this is what my education is going to. So I don't know that maybe we'll learn something.
00:31:55:23 - 00:32:13:02
Unknown
First two years, it's kind of the same thing, but what one would, And I'm probably going to college for more than just four years, so I would hope in my time I don't like school, but if I got to do it, I would prefer to learn something. So it would be nice to get some education to learn something.
00:32:13:04 - 00:32:30:05
Unknown
Because I have legitimately learned nothing in a year and a half of school, so it's pretty great. I knew I could be self-sufficient on my own. So, mother, can I interview now, please? How do you feel about your son saying you're wasting your money? Well, he's going for soccer, right? So he's going for it. And that's a great thing.
00:32:30:05 - 00:32:47:03
Unknown
The soccer, the soccer part, soccer part is good. I dealt with a lot of shit this year with that too, so it's kind of it's been a great it's been a great fucking semester. He's he's coming, he's coming a little jaded. Coming a little. You know, I'm coming a little jaded. Maybe. Maybe other people I've met.
00:32:47:03 - 00:33:06:04
Unknown
Great people. I've met some great people. Some of those great people have left the school, so I mean, I've met some great people for a year. I would say, but I may I one thing I can say, is I've met very good people. And I love like this is also outside the soccer parts.
00:33:06:04 - 00:33:29:13
Unknown
Great. Love everyone. That's great. I love all that. Everything else. I do not care for. I think they know that. I've. I've talked about it with many people. I'm. I'm not a school person. If it wasn't for soccer, I never would have went to college. So, but don't you think, though, that you have, like, going through a year, and I know with the college I was the same like I did.
00:33:29:13 - 00:33:43:19
Unknown
Not only reason why I went with sport, I literally the same thing. And I was like, so frustrated because I'm like, oh, this is so annoying. I did learn because I did do communications, but radio, television and film. So I got to learn like the, like the technical side of writing, all that I didn't know. That's the thing.
00:33:43:21 - 00:34:05:05
Unknown
I already I know that from just like high school, I, I know that, but also to give you the say like that, you have gotten through it like there's a lot of people that could go there and that couldn't get through like that. You are like, okay, you know what? I can actually do this. And maybe it's not what I want to do, but I know I can succeed in that because I know that I got that's that's a big thing.
00:34:05:05 - 00:34:29:18
Unknown
Yeah. That's like at least with some stuff, it's like I'm waking up every day. And I saw something said like, like something with like, so I again, I don't know what I want to do with workplace, but they said like, one thing is, is like with student athletes, like they'll go right to the top of their like lists when getting hired outside of school, just because it's like they had to go through all the, the, the tiring waking up workouts and stuff, plus the school part.
00:34:29:18 - 00:34:46:09
Unknown
So I know at least I'm getting swamped with that. But it is like your think of it as your boss, all right, you know. Right. Because you know, once you graduate, we all get a job, right? We, you know, we all don't like our bosses, right? You know you're not going to like go to work. You know, if you take a look at it, you know, as your boss, right?
00:34:46:13 - 00:35:03:01
Unknown
You're going to learn ways, you know, to get around. You're learning. You're going to have to learn ways to go left, right. You're going to have to navigate that zone, you know, almost instead of using as teachers, you know, which brings that negative connotation honestly with it. Because know on the same thing, I drive by library and I want to start it on fire and burn it down.
00:35:03:03 - 00:35:23:10
Unknown
Right? You think of it as a boss, you know, then your boss, right? Because when you get in the real world, you're going to have to navigate those kind of situations, you know, around that. You know that teacher, it's, Okay. She's she's not understanding me. Okay. Maybe, you know, I have to do this or, because you're going to come across that, you know, as the next, you know, next job.
00:35:23:13 - 00:35:47:14
Unknown
You know, everybody usually takes our they say how many jobs you had to find your place. Right. But if you if you take a look at our approach, you know, being an athlete, but it's oh, that's a boss okay. So what do I need to do here. What can I learn from this communication with this calling on boss so that when you do get into that real world where you know, you know, you can refer back to how you navigated that, you know, that road.
00:35:47:16 - 00:36:09:03
Unknown
Absolutely. Riverside. And like I think that's good. Like, I talk like me, my coach talk a lot about it with my grades and stuff. They are they're very happy about my grades like that. Grades. They're like, I know you have dyslexia. It's not that we hold you at a lower standard at all, because we know you're capable of passing through school.
00:36:09:07 - 00:36:26:12
Unknown
So, your grades are just better than we ever thought they could be. Just considering your GPA coming in and everything. So, like, they're like, the coaches are really good with that. Like, they're really good at, like, making sure you stay on top of your work, but also like, they just like, they're like, your grades are good.
00:36:26:14 - 00:36:39:13
Unknown
Like, so you're good with that. And I love my teachers. I actually like I really don't have a problem with any of my teachers. I love all of them. I just think some of the stuff, like I'm a lot of the teachers I had this year, I'm taking next semester because I like them a lot and the same thing.
00:36:39:18 - 00:36:58:20
Unknown
So my teachers, I have no problems with any of them. It's just I just don't think I'm getting anything out of it. It's not on them. It's. I feel like anywhere I went, you are, you are. You won't. You know, you'll look back in time and, you know, thing is, you know, for for you guys, you know, like my daughter, you know, it's not white, you know, it's you, you know.
00:36:58:20 - 00:37:19:13
Unknown
Right. You never, you know, never burn a bridge. Need as many people as you can. You know, I'll give you an example. When I was playing in Russia, in Middle Siberia, five hours east of Moscow, dead heart of Siberia, and my parents just yell at me. I'm going to send you to Siberia. While they finally did. And the coach came up to me, you know, doesn't not a word of English.
00:37:19:13 - 00:37:39:08
Unknown
We had a little translator who could speak, barely speak. Lines said, hey, would you work with these couple young players from the junior team, started working with them, left Russia. I got a call from my dad, you know, a couple of years after, I left Russia and said, hey, do you know this, kid Sergei Popov? I'm like, oh, the man, you know?
00:37:39:10 - 00:38:04:19
Unknown
And he's like, oh, he's engaged to my boss. It's you know, my parents are in Canada, so it was a Canadian. And actually that was the kid, one of the Russian kids that I was working with. Wow. So, you know, you never know where you can meet somebody, where your past can cross again. Meet as many people as you can, you know, caught, you know, open that communication where they're from, those kind of things.
00:38:04:19 - 00:38:22:17
Unknown
Because you never know. You, or I met someone, so you all might know it. Your Ricky's from the so such call. And he went to your high school brother, right? They fucking know everybody. There's South Siders, Irish. I think they're all married to each other. Sisters and brothers are all in breeds, but they help each other out.
00:38:22:17 - 00:38:37:22
Unknown
You know, he got in a fight, you know, with enterprise while the head guy ended up being of the race. Now he gets gets all these just, you know. So it's it's that kind of you never know where you guys are. It's you never know who who those people are or what were you make cross or pass or whatever.
00:38:37:22 - 00:39:05:12
Unknown
So always keep that in mind you know, as you go through these. Yeah, right. School is not where you want to be. Right. There's bigger goals. Yeah. But you never know where that connection can come from. Down the road as these four years or six years, whatever ends up being, you know, maybe that one connection that you made, you know, in the cafeteria, you know, your freshman year comes back and pays dividends when you're 40 or who knows?
00:39:05:13 - 00:39:26:06
Unknown
Yeah, of course, like, I think I think that's definitely important. I've met a lot of people from a lot of different places. I feel like I feel like, yeah, that's an important thing. And it's not in school. I like I said, I've learned pretty much nothing. But like, I like about life and how what is to come in life I, like you have to be self-sufficient.
00:39:26:08 - 00:39:44:03
Unknown
It's mom and dad are not always going to be there with whatever you need on the spot all the time. So it's like economy needs like be like. And I'm actually I wasn't self-sufficient. I'm very self-sufficient. I didn't say you were self-sufficient before. So like, that's not really it, but it's just like you live, you live on your own.
00:39:44:04 - 00:40:00:05
Unknown
It's like, all right. Sometimes I don't want to put my stuff in the dishwasher. I'll just leave it in the sink. And sometimes they won't say anything. But my roommates will get very annoyed if you do that. So you have to clean up it. You just. You get more like you have to learn to. It's not like you're living with 1 or 2.
00:40:00:05 - 00:40:24:11
Unknown
I live with six different people, so it's like it's it's I have to just it's like living with a bunch of people and and learning, just stuff about yourself, I guess. But it's like, again, do I necessarily need college for that? Probably not. But, I am happy that at least I'm in. I was able to get into college, which was nice with how great my GPA was coming out.
00:40:24:12 - 00:40:41:05
Unknown
And then I'm playing soccer in college after all the injuries I had. So, like, those are two things. That's what mom says. And dad says all the time. Like, you might hate where you are right now because you just don't like school. But, some people are less fortunate in all the stuff you went through. Some people maybe couldn't overcome that.
00:40:41:05 - 00:41:01:19
Unknown
So you you just got to be happy and just thank God for the blessings he gave you. So as much as it sucks, you know, This is your path, right? You know, people always say to me, you know, hey, you know, what would you tell your younger self? I know I always say nothing because I had to go through everything to get here, right?
00:41:01:19 - 00:41:22:06
Unknown
Hindsight's 2020 for, you know, for and for that reason. Right? I how I wish I could go back and change all the mistakes I made. And, you know, when I got married to my mistake. So when I'm with kids, but I have my money back, like, that's not reality, right? You know, it's so it's it's your path and you're going to look back and go, oh, that's why that happened.
00:41:22:06 - 00:41:42:01
Unknown
And oh, oh, that's why that happened. And you know, so it's and as you pointed out, I say this all the time, if we all did a big circle and we all through our problems in the middle, we'd fucking jump on our own problems again to ground. Because every, you know, there's so many people that are were way worse than, than, you know, our problem than what we have.
00:41:42:03 - 00:42:00:07
Unknown
Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. So, Bradley, I want to throw to you what have you have you surprised yourself? Did you think that you were it was going to be easier or harder. What has been other than, you know, just navigating kind of stuff that Montgomery talked. Can you give us a little give me like school was. Yeah, just all of it.
00:42:00:07 - 00:42:22:01
Unknown
School or just even just, you know, doing the fraternity. I know when we had last obviously spoke, you were in the middle of Rosh and you were doing all of that, like, have you looked back and kind of thought, wow, I went through, you know, you were busy. I mean, you that, like rush is no joke. Yeah. Yeah, I actually I ended up running for rush chair.
00:42:22:01 - 00:42:44:04
Unknown
I did not in the morning, me and my buddy ran together and we ran against, like, two of our best friends. And then there was a third person who ran who ended up winning. But I'm to be honest, I'm glad I didn't. I went and I told my friends as I did, I don't really want to do this, but some rush here before was like, like, you did a good job, so you should run.
00:42:44:04 - 00:43:02:10
Unknown
And I was like, okay, like, I guess. And I went up there and, you know, had to give a speech and for like our whole chapter and like two of your people. And I was just like, yeah, you know, I really liked, rushing these guys and talking to these kids. Feel like I got them well and would like to do it again.
00:43:02:12 - 00:43:26:07
Unknown
And the other guy gave, like, some crazy, like, Wolf of Wall Street and just blew it, right? That's like. Yeah, well, he should be the rusher, right? But the thing is Bradley and I think one and I and then I want you to finish. But like one of the things that I've gotten so intentional in and one of the like I've said to like Montgomery and the kids also, and I know your parents the same way so many times we do things because as you just said, everyone was like, oh, you were really good at it.
00:43:26:07 - 00:43:41:22
Unknown
But like when you really stop and think, what do I want? And it's not selfish, but that's so important to do. So you basically were protected by God because God was like, no, you shouldn't be doing this. I'm going to have someone else win. But like, say you did get it and then you were like, oh, like struggling.
00:43:41:22 - 00:43:57:02
Unknown
And I there's so many times in life that I've picked stuff that I did when I was staying home with the kids that I was like, I should just be doing this. Like I should be the you know, the an environmental chairperson and doing all these different things. And I really didn't like it, but I thought that that's what I should do.
00:43:57:02 - 00:44:13:21
Unknown
And so those things that you're going to learn is so important to be so intentional. What is actually good for you and what you're like, gifts are and yes, your gift you're I know you've been talking to your mom like you were so good at that, but is that really supposed to be your path? So I just want to lay that down.
00:44:13:21 - 00:44:29:10
Unknown
I love that you said that it really wasn't. You were kind of like, I don't want to do it. And then you got protected not to do it. And what what? I remember speaking in front of a crowd like you did there in front of the whole chapter. That's probably free, you know, free pulled, you know, a thousand people.
00:44:29:12 - 00:44:47:20
Unknown
I think that might be the number one fear. Yeah. Oh, so many people. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody. You know, obviously I've got no problem doing it. Yeah. I love how that's how I get around my life. Right. But so learning that skill as much as you didn't get that like that's that's a huge win. Like that's you know you can go back okay.
00:44:47:20 - 00:45:02:03
Unknown
You know I've done it. Most people hide from it hide from a high right. And don't don't do it. And so, you know, it didn't work out that you can get it going and everything happens for a reason. But the fact that you were able to stand in front and you know, you can turn back to that time.
00:45:02:03 - 00:45:23:19
Unknown
And, you know, I did it back then. And, you know, companies, everybody, you know, pretty much everybody got to do it. And that's the number one fear. Most people don't do it and are very good at it because of that. Yeah there's funny, somebody who I was running with, like we were last to talk or whatever. And so we were waiting on the hallway, and he kept asking me, he's like, you nervous?
00:45:23:19 - 00:45:43:10
Unknown
And I'm like, dude, like, no, but you asking me is making me nervous, right? People up like, right. Every five seconds, it's like you're hurt. Like, yeah, like a little bit. But I'm trying to keep it down. I'm trying to keep my anxiety down. I know how to do that. Right. But that's. But that's so cool that you, you went for that and did that.
00:45:43:10 - 00:46:01:10
Unknown
So take us through a little bit though with classes. Have you surprised yourself? Have you been like proud of where you are or do you are you like, I know I could do better and I want to do better, or like, I'm really good where I am and I feel like excited to keep growing, but keeping it at that same intensity that I'm at.
00:46:01:10 - 00:46:24:22
Unknown
Give us a little insight on that. Yeah. I'm proud of where I am. I if I could be like a dream scenario or maybe not have dropped math and like passed that class, but, besides that, like, you know, my grades are pretty good and, time wise, like, I'm a little bit behind on the hours, but I'm taking math over the summer and it'll be fine.
00:46:25:00 - 00:46:53:13
Unknown
But it's been. Yeah, it's been pretty easy to manage, especially being, like, I think I had 13 or 12 hours, which they then want you to take 15 of 15 at minimum, like minimum, but like on pace to graduate, it would be 15. So yeah, it's man, it's been pretty good. And then the whole fraternity things kind of died down with, like how busy I am with that.
00:46:53:15 - 00:47:16:03
Unknown
Not, like that winning, rush, I, I was, I mean, I have to travel, like, all summer, to, like, Texas and, like, look so good, right? Yeah, it's kind of a pain in the ass, but luckily, I don't have to do that now, so. So that's good. So to, Brant, just so you know, like, for 15 hours, that's five classes, right, guys?
00:47:16:09 - 00:47:43:07
Unknown
Because they three. I know when I was there, there were three credits. So that's five classes. So like when I went, I was only allowed because I went in on academic probation. I was only allowed to take 12 credits. I could never take more. So I knew I was going for five years. So it was like, okay, I could just take for and, and then I had to, like, I had study halls that I had to that were mandatory because I went in on academic probation, because my grades, so badly.
00:47:43:07 - 00:48:04:07
Unknown
So you're right now, right? You took 13 instead of 15 because you dropped the one class, but you're still fine. Montgomery, I know that that's one of the things that you had as well when you because you dropped. Did you drop something this semester as well? No, I was going to drop sign language, but then I kind of like I think I was just so annoyed that I was so tired and, I was going to make myself suffer through this.
00:48:04:07 - 00:48:18:20
Unknown
I ended up just not so well, you. But you also had to take it. I mean, you had. I had no choice. But, like, that's why I like. I'm very happy. Like Miss Ashley, my advisor was like, she, it's kind of like a miracle. She works for me, getting me into sign language instead of Spanish. Because I would have failed Spanish.
00:48:18:20 - 00:48:39:23
Unknown
I would have failed French or whatever else they have me do. So she's the best because like, she she puts good schedules for me. Like I talk to her about my new ones coming up. She picks certain teachers that she thinks will be like that. She gets along with and and stuff like that, that are that are like, like much of a call, like they support the, IEP and and all that stuff.
00:48:39:23 - 00:49:00:00
Unknown
So yeah she's she I would give her a lot a lot, a lot of like credit. Why would I be able to pass. Well that's why I mean, that's why she has that job. I mean, that is and that so many other schools would benefit with having that for, you know, not only does she talk to the teachers, knows the teachers, you know, the business law, that was something that you had to do.
00:49:00:00 - 00:49:18:08
Unknown
And she knew she taught. Remember that summer before you even went to school? What did she say to you? You were not allowed to use your charm and you weren't. Yeah. No. She's like, no, not like zero charm. You. You do any charm and she will call you out and then she'll be on you and you're like, okay, but I don't know how to not do that.
00:49:18:10 - 00:49:34:06
Unknown
She's like, oh, you just you tried. And she was like, she still thought you were Charminar. I try it only go so far, like, are you? I can't do that in high school. Like high school that didn't care. I got also, like, what your mom call. Just like they ended up. Just stopped caring. Like, well, once a senior year doesn't matter.
00:49:34:06 - 00:49:49:16
Unknown
Like one of the teachers is like, I read what he said. He's like, you can't act the same way you act in high school. In college, you want to pass like you've got to stop this shit. And I kind of was like, I saw my wife. So I was like, no, she's like, you have to like a girl.
00:49:49:18 - 00:50:12:21
Unknown
Yeah, I don't I act the exact same way. He was like, he's like, you're in a failing that you'll fail out of college if you keep doing the shit you're doing. And you won't get into college. It sounds like, I already am in college. And I have a 95 in your class, so I don't know what the fuck you need to do, so it's just like you can act the same way, but it's like the charm doesn't work, because, like, you like, they actually care.
00:50:12:21 - 00:50:39:23
Unknown
Like college care is, like, about teaching you. I get they do so because they. Yeah. So take us into and then because we're, we want to end this in an hour. So ten minutes take us into. And do you have any goals or achievements that you're looking to like strive for in the next year, next two semesters?
00:50:39:23 - 00:51:05:07
Unknown
I guess we'll start with you. Biggest goal right now would probably be to figure out what I want to do, for a living and stuff like that, and then like pondering that for the past year, like every night before I go to bed, just thinking about what? Like, I don't know, I just feel like I'm kind of drifting through life at this point and got to figure out, what I want to do or what I'm passionate about.
00:51:05:09 - 00:51:23:22
Unknown
But it will happen. Just when you dream, just dream about where you think you are. Because that's. I feel like there's so much pressure on kids when they're younger or older. I mean, look at me. Do you really ever think that I dream to be the CEO for a biotech company? Absolutely not. And I wouldn't even think about it.
00:51:24:00 - 00:51:46:01
Unknown
Yeah, just let it happen. Just let it go, you know? And if that happens in a day or in two years, that's when it's supposed to happen. You know, college is for years and this is in this and you're supposed to get married. This know everybody has their own path, you know, no matter what that is. So now don't fall in the, the right with with everybody.
00:51:46:03 - 00:52:03:01
Unknown
So pressure don't let them pressure you. The more you think about it, the more you know, the more we're going to. You're more. And it's not going to happen the more you can fuck yourself up and it's not going to come because that's, you know, I'm a prime example of that. So, you know, just try, try and enjoy what you.
00:52:03:01 - 00:52:23:00
Unknown
Daly. The glass half full, not half empty. And it'll, you know, come to you. You know, the more you think about it, you know, the less it comes and you'll enjoy it. Did I ever show you that video of, With the hands out? You. Yeah. Been. You know. Yeah. Did you show the, Montgomery? No, I don't think so.
00:52:23:00 - 00:52:44:21
Unknown
Yeah. Well, so it's, you know, we can show Montgomery, you know, then. So it's it's your mind, right? You know, it's you can, you know, it's it's an object, right? You know, I spin, you know, stop, feel far, I go going, I go back and I visualize myself turning, you know, 2 or 3 or four feet further. Every single person goes further because your mind stronger.
00:52:44:21 - 00:53:02:06
Unknown
Right? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, or if I get up in the morning, I'm dumb, I suck. All right, I need this, right? What doesn't happen? So just, you know, just let it happen. And if I know your brother, you're going to be a thinker anyways. But think about all the things that you don't want to do.
00:53:02:08 - 00:53:25:01
Unknown
Yeah, I do know that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like, so that's the thing. If you know what you don't want to do and then you just check that off, like, okay, I know I don't want to do that. What you want to do. What does that light right for you for that. Okay. Really? It's four years old. I actually don't think a four year old would say that.
00:53:25:01 - 00:53:43:20
Unknown
So what, are you, 15 years old anyways? And if you liked gay sex, we would still love you. Oh, I don't judge, so I would do that. Like, anytime you think about it, just be like, okay, what do I like? What don't I want to do? I want to work at a desk. That's what I do want you.
00:53:43:22 - 00:54:00:04
Unknown
So that's perfect. And there's so many jobs that and that's huge. And don't go back because you're like, well, maybe this is what I'm so you know, that innate in you, you do not want to work at a desk. So anytime it's like, well, do you like this? Okay, you still have to work and no, no, you know that you don't want to work at a desk like so that is like a huge thing.
00:54:00:04 - 00:54:20:23
Unknown
And that's a lot of jobs underneath that curve. Yeah, exactly. So, Montgomery, do you have any goals to that? I don't know, like this. I guess if I can make it home for the summertime, that's kind of what I live for at this point. Just trying to get through school, all that bullshit. Don't forget about big day.
00:54:21:03 - 00:54:43:15
Unknown
Chicks like big legs. Yeah, that flag day every day. But yeah, honestly, I have absolutely zero goals for school. Kind of just pass. What was it? Say you want to pass, but yeah, I will. Yeah, because if I don't pass, I'm not playing and then I'm at. Right. So that's a goal to keep passing. Yes. I want to try like a I guess I'm big.
00:54:43:15 - 00:55:01:18
Unknown
All I have is to I don't, I don't like dropping classes. Like, I know me and Brad have done it. It kind of sucks like it because then you feel like, could I have done it? Could. I've actually just find a way to make it out. So I don't want to drop any of the classes I have.
00:55:01:20 - 00:55:17:05
Unknown
So I guess that's the goal. That's great. That's that's like. That's a great goal that we've all for. Sam Spencer. Yeah. Like, I just don't want to drop because I dropped the class six semester of my freshman year. So I don't want to make it like a habit. Keep dropping classes because now communication's major like it's small.
00:55:17:10 - 00:55:34:09
Unknown
So it's kind of like, I'm doing some business classes, sports management stuff and then communication classes. So it's like it's a handful of classes I can only take for communication. So it's like I just want to try to keep them. I like both the teachers. There's only two. So I really like both the teachers. I think they're very good.
00:55:34:11 - 00:55:54:07
Unknown
But like, yeah, I have no goals. No, you just said you just need two goals, you know? So I get my pride. He just said, like, four goals. Okay. You're like me, right? You know, we get in our heads, we're we beat ourselves up, you know, you know, let's, you know, let's talk about, you know, a baseball terminology.
00:55:54:12 - 00:56:17:08
Unknown
Would you rather have 3000 singles or 50 homeruns? And and what I mean by that is every little victory that we have builds up faster than the big one. Oh, I wish you know, I want to win the lottery. Yeah, right. So I, I want to jump 1 to 10. But that's not reality. So those little wins that you just said, those little goal, those add up, they add up a lot.
00:56:17:08 - 00:56:35:17
Unknown
And the more that you shake, you no longer that you're negative and say those things. Trust me, I beat, you know, when I was playing in show, when I was on, I was fucking one of the best players in the world. And when I was off, I was one of the worst players and I was mentally right because I suck, you know?
00:56:35:19 - 00:56:59:07
Unknown
I can't do that. And and I still today, you know, I still struggle and struggle with that. So my goal for you is to turn that perspective. Yeah. Because when we kill ourselves and when we kill ourselves we beat ourselves down to nothing. And then our whole lives go to shit and it's so hard for us to get it back out.
00:56:59:09 - 00:57:17:19
Unknown
Right. It's easier to, you know, and then when we get up there it's so easy for us to fall down. So you'll take a look at those little goals. Those are our goals. Those are wins. It may not seem like that for somebody over here, but for us and for you, like those are those are awesome victories. Yeah, 100%.
00:57:17:21 - 00:57:36:01
Unknown
So when we have you guys next year at this time, because I think this should be a yearly thing because this is fun. I'll remember to look back at it and see if you guys are. Yeah. No. Yeah. That is but you know, guys, I appreciate, you know, jumping off. You like to have fun, but it's getting.
00:57:36:03 - 00:57:51:07
Unknown
And for me especially I've never been in the college world. So you you enlighten me on some things that I've never heard. You know, let's just talk about her college. Right. You know, I didn't know a lot of things that you said. So you lied me out on a lot of things. So I appreciate you guys taking it in, you know, taking the time.
00:57:51:07 - 00:58:11:06
Unknown
And I know Bradley, you got the sniffles. So, I appreciate you battling through a warrior. Yeah, seriously, he's got bronchitis and ear infection. That's like double. That sucks. It sounds like I have, like a know I, I them on this. I have like a noise cancellation ear. Oh. Terrible. That's that is her. And you got to fly on Friday.
00:58:11:09 - 00:58:29:16
Unknown
Weird. Oh, dude, your ears are gonna be cork. They're gonna be popping like crazy. Maybe it clears it out. Look like. Maybe it clears out your altitude. I, I she using the Mullen the Mullen oil be using it. I don't know why she's not doing that. Because that's just it's so there's always the trigger. It always works. It's all.
00:58:29:21 - 00:58:43:03
Unknown
Well if she if she doesn't answer my text. See if you have it in the house. If not, go to Whole Foods and get it because I'll have it and just start using it before, because you don't want to fly with it. It's going to get over your pillow, your fucking headphones. And yeah, it's like, yeah, it's a yellow one.
00:58:43:05 - 00:59:02:07
Unknown
Yeah. You take your your ladybug pillow pet with you. That'll help. Oh listen, I love there's certain things that I like mothering. There's other things I don't. And I have like little remedies because I'm not very good. Like I'm not a good sick mom. Like, really. Right. Montgomery? I just be like, oh, go anywhere. And I'm just like, no, no.
00:59:02:07 - 00:59:14:14
Unknown
But I got good remedies, okay? I try to live for you know, I know I'm not good. What were you saying, Bradley? I'm good with you. The doctor is like, is there anything else going on with you? Because she, like, listen to me. She's like, yeah, you definitely. I bring guys. And I was like, why am I even?
00:59:14:14 - 00:59:32:22
Unknown
It's kind of bother me. And she looks at it for one second. She's like, oh my gosh, you got irritation. You think you're not taking anything. You're you're not taking me. I'm like, no, I've been going about my day like just very normally I don't know how you're doing this. Like it's all, it's all, but yeah, it's your your ad like your night.
00:59:33:00 - 00:59:52:17
Unknown
There's, like fluid coming around. It was really bad. Gross. Did you spread it to anyone else? No. Jackson gave it to me over Thanksgiving. Oh, fucking. Oh. That sucks. Yeah. I'm so glad I wasn't there. Yeah. Thank thank God I. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Okay. This is a fun this is like an hour. And Brant got to hear the the whole family dynamic okay.
00:59:52:22 - 01:00:02:21
Unknown
